Indri whisky awarded world’s best single malt whiskies

After a short listing, a panel of experienced judges, including master distillers, sommeliers, and industry experts, blind-taste the submitted whiskies between the connoisseurs with proper remarks and reasons they numbered each whisky. Blind-tasting means that the judges do not know the brand or origin of the whiskies they are testing and marking. Judges evaluate the whiskies based on various factors such as aroma, taste, finish, balance, overall quality, and first appearance.

They assign scores to each whisky, detailing why they scored so much. Whiskeys that receive exceptionally high scores in all categories’ aroma, taste, and quality from all judges are awarded the “Double Gold” award. In between the 120 strong single malt whiskies from the premium single malt whiskies producing countries like Scotland, Ireland, and the United States whiskies, Indri whisky has won the 2023 Double Gold award.

Indri whisky is owned by Indian based Piccadilly Agro Industries Ltd. It is, named after the town it hails from, was launched to the world in 2021 by Piccadilly Distilleries Ltd. Piccadilly Distilleries has managed to restore and represent the unique essence and taste of this region in each bottle of Indri whiskey. Haryana climate, with its extreme temperatures and varying humidity levels within a year, contributes significantly to the whiskey’s distinctive character which ultimately leads it to world’s champion.
